
BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Sallie McDonald
Sallie McDonald is the Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Information Assurance and Critical Infrastructure Protection of the General Services Administration, Federal Technology Service.
She is responsible for the Federal Computer Incident Response Center (FedCIRC) which is the Federal Government’s focal point for computer security incident recognition, reporting, handling and prevention, the Federal Bridge Certification Authority (FBCA), and many other cross government activities. She is an active participant in the Intrusion Detection community at the highest levels of government. Since being appointed to the Information Assurance office, Sallie has participated in the evolving face of Critical Infrastructure Protection. She has spearheaded programs such as Safeguard, Access Certificates for Electronic Services (ACES) and Managed Security Services. She also lead the GSA effort for the Y2K Information Coordination Center. She is currently focusing her efforts on enhancing the capabilities of the FedCIRC program and building relationships with other agencies to promote the importance of protecting our nation’s critical infrastructures.
Sallie has worked for GSA since 1977. She began her career in the telecommunications area where she served in a variety of technical and management positions.
Sallie attended the University of Miami and received a Master of Public Administration from American University. She lives in Washington DC.
