ROBERT J. RIEHL
Robert J. Riehl is the CTO/Technical
Director for Marconi Communications Federal, Inc. (MCF). MCF supports the U.S.
federal government in all aspects of networking, and its products form the
backbone of the Department of Defense Information Systems Network (DISN). Mr. Riehl spent more than 30 years in the U.S. Department of
Defense, and he served as the Chief Engineer for the DISN prior to his
retirement in 2000. He also was one of the founders and principals of the
Advanced Technology Demonstration Network (ATDnet),
which was responsible for several networking milestones, including the first
ATM switch, HDTV, and high-speed encryption.
