Dr. John A. Medeiros

Senior Scientist with COLSA Corporation for the last 15 years and currently technical lead on the Hypersonic Missile Technology program at COLSA’s Research and Operations Center in Huntsville, AL. Obtained a doctorate in Physics (1972) from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) where he studied under a NASA Fellowship and specialized in atomic physics. Postdoctoral and Research Fellow at the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario, Canada) and later, Assistant Professor of Physics at the Pennsylvania State University from 1978 to 1984. Joined Pacific Sierra Research Corporation as Chief Optical Engineer for six years before joining COLSA. Dr Medeiros has conducted extensive research in atomic physics, optical physics, biophysics, and computational science. His current work focuses on high performance computing for computational fluid dynamics of hypersonic flight.
