Gregory J. McRae, is the Hoyt C. Hottel Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology. He obtained his Ph.D. in Engineering from Caltech and his undergraduate
degrees in Australia. His
teaching and research is related to process systems engineering, new energy technologies
and finance/project risk management. He is the recipient of numerous awards for
his work in computational science, and process engineering
including the prestigious Presidential Young Investigator Award, the National
Computer Graphics Prize and a AAAS fellowship. He is an advisor
to many industrial, academic and government organizations including the National
Academy of Sciences, the National Research Council and the U.S. Department of Energy.
He is the founder of four companies that provide services to the chemical,
microelectronics and financial communities. He has written numerous papers and
reports and was a co-author of the recent MIT Future of Coal study (web.mit.edu/coal).
