Chuck Kleinschmidt
Chuck Kleinschmidt is the
project manager for Enterprise High Performance Computing at the Fleet
Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center, in Monterey, California.
His charter is to transform numerical weather prediction operations by
remapping those processes onto a HPC grid. As part of this effort,
he has been collaborating with the Air Force Weather Agency to prototype a
Globus Grid built upon the DoD
Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). This work has been funded
and supported in part by the DoD High Performance
Computing Modernization Office. Mr. Kleinschmidt
has been at Fleet Numerical for six years and has previously held
positions as Director, Programs Office and Head, Systems Department where he was
responsible for both high performance systems and networks.
