John Grosh
 
John Grosh is the Director of the Center for Applied Scientific Computing (CASC) at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.  CASC conducts a wide range of research in applied mathematics, computer and computational sciences in support of Laboratory mission programs in stockpile stewardship, national security, defense, energy, and life sciences.
 
Prior to April 2006, Mr. Grosh served in Office of the Secretary of Defense, where he oversaw, developed, and initiated programs in computing and software science and technology, led and participated in technology reviews for major defense programs, led the interagency working group that coordinated high-end computing, and formulated government policy in export controls for computers and microprocessors.
 
From 2003 to 2004, he served as the co-chair for the interagency High-End Computing Revitalization Task Force, chartered by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy to develop the federal plan for high-end computing.
 
From 1998 to 2000, he managed programs in scalable applications software development, parallel programming tools, technology transfer, and training for the DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program.
 
From 1985 to 1998, Mr. Grosh worked at the Army Research Laboratory conducting research in computational molecular dynamics, scientific visualization, and conventional weapons technology.
